Hello there! I just got a pd 150 the other week and am now looking for a tripod for it -- mostly for interviews for a documentary. Was thinking about getting a used bogen 3046 legs and maybe 501 or 503 head -- I am shopping around on Craig list for them.

Anyhow, I saw this advertisement below and was considering it also. I have heard that gitzo has a good reputation also -- Any thoughts are appreciated -- thanks!

I like the Gitzo for my still cameras, not sure about them for video/film. Find out which model it is and see if it will work for you. Actually, unless it's a video tripod, there's no way to mount a 75mm/100mm ball head. The still tripods are designed for a column. Go to the website and you'll see the difference between the stills tripods and the video ones.

Get a video tripod.

Thanks for the tip -- it actually does look like a still camera tripod! Ooops! :-)

Some of the larger Gitzo tripods can accept a Gitzo half ball accessory that allows for leveling the fluid heads. It requires that the tripod has a removable head or riser plate and the adapter is clamped in place of the riser. I think the 400 series or larger Gitzo tripods can use this adapter.
