Sorry, I just had to post another thread regarding the camera. Don't mean to demean DVinfo or Panasonic. My apologies if it seems as such.
View Full Version : Is the HDX-100 going to be available in custom colors Claude Isbell March 8th, 2005, 04:38 PM Sorry, I just had to post another thread regarding the camera. Don't mean to demean DVinfo or Panasonic. My apologies if it seems as such. Zack Birlew March 8th, 2005, 05:29 PM Heh, heh, heh, custom colors for cameras, what an idea! Well, they've done custom colors for laptops, why not cameras? A green car-class paint job would make the camera match my Area 51M Alienware laptop! ^_^ I don't think it's likely since removing the camera's casing is much harder than other electronic devices and cameras are usually rugged devices, so I'm sure Panasonic doesn't want to be bothered with returns to redo the paintjobs on cameras after they've taken a tumble or two, too expensive and wasteful in the long run I think. Plus you don't want to cause mass confusion as to what camera you're shooting with, then nobody would know what camera to ask for. I could just imagine some D.P. right now cursing underneath his breath about shooting with a hot pink camcorder! =D LOL! That could be kind of fun. ;-) This is a joke. Claude Isbell March 8th, 2005, 05:40 PM I love it, the hot pink loaner! Chris Hurd March 8th, 2005, 06:12 PM Y'know, once upon a time there was a Canon GL2 with charcoal-grey factory paint. It was cool. It was sexy. But you could only get it in Japan! Hot pink may be nifty for the loaner to the irate customer, but my own sights are set on candy-apple blue. Now that's a pretty color! Claude Isbell March 8th, 2005, 06:27 PM Oh no, maybe it's time to lock this thread. Zack Birlew March 8th, 2005, 08:54 PM >0< - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Dylan Couper March 8th, 2005, 11:15 PM I've been saying companies should be making consummer video cameras in a range of colours for at least a couple years now. THey are finally doing it in digital still cameras. I'll take my XL2 in Chevy Electron Blue, with white racing stripes and red Grand Sport hach marks on the lens. F**k me that would be sweet. Claude Isbell March 9th, 2005, 12:32 AM I think it's working guys and gals, the "Other" thread seems to have come to a halt. Long Live Hot Pink Loaners! Chris Hurd March 9th, 2005, 08:50 AM Thanks... I needed that! ;-) Gary McClurg March 9th, 2005, 10:02 AM Do you think the hot pink model will be a lot cheaper? LOL Claude Isbell March 9th, 2005, 02:04 PM You calling me cheap? LOL Barry Green March 9th, 2005, 06:16 PM ... maybe they could do it like the Nokia cell phones, with interchangeable face plates... and while we're at it, why stop at colors? Let's make plug-on-able different shapes as well, so when you go "guerilla" you could snap on the "VHS Home Camcorder" body pack, so the cops'll leave you alone. When you get back to the studio you snap off that case and snap on the VariCam Look-Alike body pack, so your clients'll think you spent the big bucks... ... that'd be sweet... Gary McClurg March 9th, 2005, 07:58 PM You calling me cheap? No, I'm calling myself cheap. Who knows I might be tempted to buy the hot pink camera if was half the price. But then I'd have to get one of Barry's clip ons. |
