I have a sennheiser shotgun Mic that goes on top my cam....
Can anyone recommend a way I can make it into a handheld mic when I need one?
How can I build or put together some sort of handle or grip for it... that doesn't look to dumb around people??
haha
THANKS

Which model mic do you have. Many news orginizations are using the ME66 as a handheld. Just don't fidget when your holding it.
If it's an MKE300 than the same might apply but that mic is a tad small to get a grip on.

It's the MKE300
What can I do to it to build some sort of handle for it?

Brent,
I think you might be talking about using a Hand Grip or Pistol Grip. Look that up at B&H and see if one of these is what you're thinking.

Patrick... those bottom two are perfect... BUT
with the 3/8" female on the bottom of the Sennheiser MKE300... when I connect the grip it it wont be strip up and down
it will create an L shape

dv.com did an article on a shooter who uses the Sennheiser MKE300. http://www.dv.com/features/features_item.jhtml?category=Archive&articleId=17501890

"For interviews, she has the Sennheiser rigged to pop easily off the top of the camera, and she'll quickly pass it to her subject to use as a hand-held."
Maybe you can figure it out from looking at the pictures on that site.

When you actually put this info to practice, write us a report on how it worked (and what didn't work). That will help us all.
