Hey, that certainly looks like an interchangeable lense? Actually, it looks like a very expensive lense to me. Doesn't it?

I still love my Z1 though....to much bad blood from my HD10U experience!

As I recall the price estimates, you could buy four z-1's from the price of the JVC...

Yes, that would be the professional 2/3rd-inch shoulder-mount model they had promised from last year for $20K, but I *think* this is not the only HDV piece forthcoming from JVC. Thanks Murph,

Hello,

in the image from flash file the lens is like a 7.3 ~ 116

But the manager about lens said

1/3 inch Baionet mount

when I asked about bitmap He call another man who said at first 19 Mb an the a second version 50Mb
I suppose the 50 Mb in Nab 2006, but who know?

Francesco, get some more info from your guy in Milano, pronto, si? Otherwise we've got 5 weeks ahead of boring guessing game posts.
Grazie.

Hello,

I'm sorry but the Photo Show was from the 04 march 2005 to 07 march 2005 (http://www.photoshow.it) and now is end.

I think that the lens will be like:

16x 5.5-88
13x 3.8-50

bye

Thanks Francesco,

In my HD100 article (http://www.hdvinfo.net/articles/jvcprohd/hd100teaser.php), I had guessed the 13x was a wider lens.

Chris,

Great article ! Can I assume that the specs as you describe them are for sure? I mean did you get your info from JVC?
You state in your article that focus enhancements have prepared there harddisks for hdv, but most NLE's don't offer full support as of yet...
Thanks

Hi David,

The basis for my article was this post by Sean Dinwoodie (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40824), who has actually seen the camera. His shop was given a private demo by JVC, so in my opinion even though it's second-hand info there's no reason not to believe him. I think Sean's initial report is right on the money.

Does anyone here think that this will give cameras like the Sony HDW730 HDCAM and the new HDX DVCProHD cameras a run for their money?

I mean, you have an HD camera with removable lenses for under 10 grand. This is amazing.

Will field producers and broadcasters want ENG/EFP crews with this camera?

I would like to know, as now when I shoot HD, I rent HDCAMs.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hey, put a firewire drive on the back that looks like a film magazine, and you would have pretty cool looking camera.

Would make for some interesting production stills...
