Are they usually on time? In the past models?

Short answer: yes. Example: AG-DVX100. Hope this helps,

Agreed. They announced the DVX would be available on October 10th, 2002, and they actually hit store shelves a few days early.

And of course the DVX100A was available immediately upon the announcement (no pre-announcement waiting period).

But as we all know, they haven't announced a release date yet with the HDX... And actually they haven't even officially announced it. They just admitted that some of the facts from the "leaked" press event were true about their new camera.

Very true. No release date has been announced. We should find out at NAB exactly what the capabilities are, and when it's scheduled to be released.

Hell, I can't remember one thing Panasonic has been late to deliver on. They've been right on time with HD tv's, Camcorders, Stereos, DVD players, Car Audio..... hell, EVERYTHING.

Panasonic are one of the very few companies to really be on the ball with their releases and information in which they provide about their upcoming releases.
