Hi! Does anyone have experience with the Rycote pistol grip systems for outdoor and indoor field audio applications?
I'm working with the Senn K6 family of capsules and plan on walking around and picking up various environmental/human sounds. Can you comment on how well this system cuts back on handling noise?

Thanks,

Shawn

Hello!

My audio guy picked up a Rycote pistol grip, Zeppelin, and WindJammer for an outdoor shoot we were gearing up for last year. The difference was astounding.

There is almost NO handling noise on our AT 835b or AT 897. In addition, the Zeppelin alone eliminates most air movement noise, and the WindJammer absolutely kills all but the gustiest of winds.

Pricey, but VERY worth it.

I have two Rycote kits. The pistol grip works well, but when you
turn up the gain proper operation (no fumbling) is still required.

Thanks all, good to hear. Proper handling is a given, you're absolutely right. Guess my decision is made!
