I thought it might be useful if we can share the optimal settings when using prosumer camcorders with the G-2.

I use the Digital-8 TRV-350 with the G-2's. I'm still experimenting with the optimal settings. The goal is completely distortion free audio and only a couple of the settings on both the transmitter and receiver seem to prevent distortion.

When I use my E.N.G. camera equipment I seem to have much more latitude in how I set-up the G-2, it appears to be much more difficult to get an optimized setting when I use the Digital-8 camcorders.

I just used my Senny today for an actors demo reel. He actually wrote two scripts, memorized them, and we made two test commercials.

I used my JVC-KY27B BetaCam SP camera (a ten year old camera!). I was astounded at how good the Senny sounded. I swear it sounded as good as a wired lav!

I've done two actor's demo shoots in the past week and both of them have commented to me how good the wireless sound was. Whenever I've use the senny on my Digital-8 TRV-350, I'm sweating bullets trying to get the magical best combination of transmitter output setting and the receiver input setting.

Since I'm in LA I'll probably visit one of the many sound rental houses and see if they suggest a different headphone than the Sony MDR-V6 that I normally use to see if that makes it any easier to determine my best level settings.

I should point out that I did buy the higher end microphone that did not come with the original wireless kit, and it cost a couple of hundred dollars, yeesh!
