I am going to possibly get a GL 2 and I am curious about the diffence between the interlaced and noninterlaced recording modes of the camera------my question is if the noninterlaced or
progressive is so much better quality footage, then why ever use the regular interlaced mode at all. What are the advantages and disadvatages of using the interlaced mode to record? thanks, steve

Progressive isn't any "better" in terms of image quality than interlace. It's simply a different aesthetic, a different look to the video. It's an artistic choice.

If you dig around on these boards a bit, you'll find a lot of discussions which debate the merits and demerits of progressive and interlace. Just click the search tool button up at the top of the page, and dig right in!
