Ha...it so happens I'm taking a class with Berg right now. RTF 314 - Development of the Motion Picture. Man, he is a character. It's hard to find someone these days so exuberant and alive with passion for film and film-making. He'd make a great motivational speaker if he weren't teaching film.

I'm finding that RTF will probably be worth my time and money. I had second thoughts about it going in, in terms of the job market and my future, but what the hell. You only live once and it'd be a shame not to do something you're crazy about, and there aren't many better places than Austin to do it in.

I'm sure you've got plenty of stories about RTF, I'd love to hear some of them! I'm not sure if RTF now is still the RTF that it was in 1990, but it seems like a top notch program.

Isn't "y'all" singular and "all y'all" plural?

Sheriff informing a driver of his transgression:
"Y'all'r'n a heap o'trouble, boah."

If two people get out of the car unbidden by theSherif he would say:
"All y'all'r'n a heap o'trouble, nayow, boahs. "

I may not be saying "now boys" correctly.

The actual pronunciation of "Chimera" should be Kī-mir-a. That is: "ch" is a hard K, the "i" is long, the "e" sounds like a short "i" and the "a" is short. But, if you said "kimera", people wouldn't know what you were saying. We can start a trend...

Singular would be "Yew." As in, "Yew'n a heap o'trouble boah."

"Y'all" is actually more than one, might be only two if that's all there is, and in a small group it means everyone, but in a large group it might be less than the total number present. "Was it y'all that jest hollered at me?"

"All y'all" is all-inclusive, everybody within eyesight and earshot. "All y'all come on over for dinner tommora."

I'm sure you are all familiar with Softimage. It is actually pronounced "soft-ee-mahj".

Sachtler = Socked-ler is, I believe, the proper pronunciation...although I hear sacked-ler often.

People ask Kentuckians, "How do you pronounce the capital of Kentucky? Is it Loo-ee-ville, Loo-uh-ville, or Loo-is-ville?" And the response is, "F-R-A-N-K-F-O-R-T."
