Hi all,
I got one of these recently and wondered what any of you thought about using this in some fashion to capture audio at a wedding. It has built in mics as well as line inputs (mic in too maybe?). Others have mentioned using mini discs but this records wavs and has a USB connection...

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

I've never used it, but you should be able to capture nice audio with it. It looks a little big, so I'm guessing you're thinking for the speakers at a podium or a feed from the church. I am currently looking at getting an iRiver to mic the officiant and maybe another one for the groom.

I'm convinced at this point that iRivers are the way to go for convenience and price.

I think that it could work nice as a capture off your mixer. Sort of a back up track in case there are any problems with the camera recording the track to tape. Or perhaps at the dj's feed. Especially if your on a one camera operation at the reception but you still need the clean feed from the dj.

The irivers are more cost effective and smaller but if you already have the unit then you can certainly make use of it. And from the specs it looks to really record a clean signal.
