Why wasn't Glen Elliott named the moderator of this forum back when we first set it up so many months ago now? Good question. I'm still trying to find a decent answer for that. Meanwhile, it's finally official: please welcome Glen Elliott as the moderator of our Weddings & Events board, a well-deserved position, I'm sure you'll all agree.

I never know whether to congratulate a moderator, offer sympathy, or just wish them luck. Pick whichever one you need. :)

Congratulations Glen, I look forward to your keen insight as you moderate this very important area of Dv info. I am just curious if your profession sees you working the corporate video or more toward the wedding production side of the business?

Again, thanks for taking the necessary time out of your schedule to assist all of us in what is truly an incredible hobby/profession.

Kind regards and a warm welcome.

Thank you. The closest thing to corporate work I've done are local commercials. The bulk of my work are wedding productions. I do this part time with a cap around 7-14 bookings a year.

It's amazing to see how far you have come in such a short period of time. You have earned it. Thanks for telling me about this board. We are looking forward to meeting you in March up in NYC.

Hey Jenn welcome to DVinfo! Yeah I find a good 2-3 hours a night to chip away at my projects. On some nights I can actually get a good 4-5 hours in.

Most of my time spend on the board is in my office during my dayjob. *shhhhh*

C'mon Mark- you never heard of "Videos my Moak" :)

Jennifer Moak
February 9th, 2005, 10:50 AM
Ugh, another variation. I always thought our biz name was so simple, but apparrently I'm wrong.

And it's always funny when someone asks, "What's a Moak?" seriously... I'm not kidding. People have asked that. One person thought it was some kind of lingo or film jargon. LOL

"What's a Moak?"

LOL.
Jenn, how do you pronounce "moak"? In case we ever meet face to face...

<edit>Congrats Glen!</edit>

Just like you said it: "Moak."
;o)

No really, like the tree - oak - with an "m" in front of it.

Hey there Matt! Welcome aboard! Seems I pulled some VU'sters along with me.

Well, I've actually been aboard since Nov, just been lurking in the shadows. ;-)
Hopefully they will let you keep your position as moderator here, I know that last forum sure had issue with your weight problem. You know the one. Couple that with you being a imposter, and your days may be numbered, son! I'll say a little prayer for you tonight...

Congrats Glenn!

I'm a long time lurker here, had more time to post when I had a day job like you. Now that I'm full time and busier than ever with editing, I feel guilty taking time away to post.

Good luck.

LMAO

Seriously Glen CONGRATULATIONS!! You are well respected on VU and will be here too. I will try to visit here more often especially since I see alot of familiar names.

Can we not have avatars here though? I miss Stewie...

If anybody acts up here with flaming posts, Glen will make you tap out via a rear naked choke!!

That sounds kinda weird if you dont know what it REALLY means!

hehe..yeah tell me about it. How about we just say I'll be dishing out generous servings of helicopter armbars (ever see one of them?!). Let's just say Doug "The Hammer" Graham will look like Sophia from the Golden Girls compared to me. j/k

Doesn't Glen have to share his equipment as part of this agreement? That's what I understood.

Glen, It is nice having on this board as a moderator. I see lots of VUers over here. I know that you have suggested DVInfo as a good alternative site. I will have to drop in more often.

I have to agree with the particular sentiments you expressed recently. As Bob Anderson would say-keeping with the videography motif.... this forum has a higher "signal to noise" ratio.
