Am I retarded?

I purchased a pair of Sony 7506 headphones for use with my XL1 and for some reason I can't get the plug into the jack... is this set up compatible?

Try unscrewing the headphone adapter off the connector. I'm fairly sure it unscrews... just don't lose it, as a replacement may be hard to find.
