Hello,

I am in the process of installing the Movie Looks plugin that came along with Vegas 5.

Destination Folder: C:\Program Files

The location did not seem right so I browsed and installed the plugin under c:\program files\sony\shared plug-ins


When I run Vegas afterward, under the Video FX, I do see Magic Bullet Movie Looks listed but when I click on it, I only see a Default.



So the correct directory to install the plug in is....?

well u did wrong. u should let the installer choose to install at

c:\Program Files\Movie looks for Vegas
when u do that it will be alright.

if you download new looks u should extract them in the
c:\Program Files\Movie looks\look presets

I've done exactly that. Let it install on the Program Files directory.
The Magic Bullet Movie Looks is listed under Video FX but only 1 selection (Default).


Under the C:\Program Files\Movie Looks for Vegas\Look Presets directory, I can see all the .mbl files.

Is this the right directory?

I also found the files located under
C:\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Movie Looks for Vegas\Look Presets


But still not showing up under Video FX.

click on video fx
u should see the usual list of FX's.
select magic bullet movie looks.

i guess thats what u already done.

do not go for default.
check below. u should see look presets.

and there is a pull down menu with all the presets (artistic, bistro, filmic etc). select one of those and adjust blend according to your taste.

those .mbl files are edittable also.
u can open them with notepad and mess with parameters.
but sure its better if u make a copy and play with the new file afterwards.

As Ahmet said, just drag the 'default' onto the event (or track), then look under the properties window and select on of the looks from the dropdown (I think there's 10).

Wonder why the 3rd party company made it to show only the default and not all 10 FX to be shown.

That's actually fairly typical. Look at Boris Red, for instance. Exactly WHAT would it show? It can do so much stuff. The same is true with Heroglyph - it only shows a "default" and then you make settings as needed. While the included Magic Bullet only contains 10, how many does the full package contain?

i cant count now since i am at the office but the MB editor has like 30 to 40 looks. including the same presets as MB Movie look.
I have no idea about the Suite.

Well... it was meant as a rhetorical question meaning there's a BUNCH and would be a lot of presets to wade through (and for Vegas to generate). Instead it just shows a "default" and then you adjust from inside the MB interface.
