What is the most common and the most cost effective brand of hi hat supports? I saw a few as much as $450.00 without the flat base! That's as much as as decent set of Bogen legs and 501 head combined.

Dan Selakovich February 1st, 2005, 09:59 AM I've used the Mitchell Hi-hat quite a lot over the years. It runs about $170. Check out "Film Tools". If you need one with ball head, they have that too. http://store.yahoo.com/cinemasupplies/bad3keymithi.html Dan www.DVcameraRigs.com Mark Sasahara February 2nd, 2005, 07:17 PM Filmtools, also good ole B&H has a selection. Search their site, "Hi-Hats" turns up all of them. You can probably make your own board to mount it on. I've got a Miller that's handy because the legs move, so you can adjust it to get an inch or two lower, if need be. But it pretty much lives on the board.
