Panasonic makes a wide angle and a tele-photo adaptor for the MX3000 / MX5000. These are probably your best bet. However, if you want to screw on filters to the adaptor, you can't. They do not have filter threads. If you need to use filters with an adaptor, consider the Tiffen brand of adaptors. Tiffen does make adaptors in the 43mm thread size (for the MX cams) and they come with filter threads. Take note that with wide angles you will probably get vignetting if you use a filter. I presume that this is why most wide angle adaptors do not come with filter threads. Your best bet is still the Panasonic adaptors.

Someone asked me about the Tiffen adaptor in the 43mm size. Here's some info:

The filter is called, the Tiffen .75 X wide angle converter.

The filter threads on the front are 67mm - a common filter size.

The adaptor is silver in color, and has a metal barrel.

Note: filters are not recommended, however, with any wide angle adaptors.

At www.leoscamera.com the price is $199 Canadian. You can reach Peter of Leo's via here:

But perhaps first check with DV Info's dealers. To go there, go to the DVInfo's Sponsors Page.

A couple of new MX5000 owners are amazed at the quality of the Panasonic MX5 wide angle lens. It isn't cheap, but well worth the price. (Sorry no filter threads.) On another note, when you take the lens hood and viewfinder hood off, you can see clearly how small this MX5000 really is. It's a bit smaller than the MX3000, and a heck of a lot smaller than the Sony TRV950.
