Hi
Is there any big difference in the archival stability of DVCAM master series tape ( PDVM-40MEM) and the new DigitalMaster tape (PHDVM-??DM)?
+2dB and -50% tape shrinkage sounds an awful lot familiar. It is as if the master series tapes only would have been renamed... So, is there any real difference in archival stability? Which one is better? I need it for standard definition DV, not HDV.
If DigitalMaster is better or equally good then where do I find some digital master tape with "cassette memory" - the IC chip. I just love it because it lets me swap tapes back and forth without losing end search functionality. I know that digital master is newer and cheaper but I really want the chip.
Any advice?
