I'm using PD-170's mounted in a simple Varizoom shoulder bracket and am looking to upgrade into something better. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money, but I'm looking for something that is more comfortable to have on the shoulder for a long time and perhaps adds a little more stability. Anyone have any tried and true recomendations?
Thank you

The DV Caddie hangs from your shoulder by a strap, and has an adjustable metal support on which the camera mounts. It takes the weight off of your arms and eases fatigue much better than a shoulder mount. It's not a stabilizer, but with experimentation and practice you should be able to find a position and way to hold it that minimize shakiness. The price is around $210.

The product you choosed is for full size camcorders and not for
your PD-170 which is a hand held.

This is what I use and am very happy with.
The same manufacturer came out with a more compact support
the Junior Rig. www.dvtec.tv
