Hey, I’ve just got my hands finally on a Glidecam 200 camera crane. I was a little surprised at the weight of the thing with my XM2 and 503 on the end (needs 25kg to balance)

Anyway, as you can imagine, I found it quickly collapsing my 525 legs. The fact that it has a bowl was also not helpful due to the weight. It kept knocking it off level.

I'm looking for a tripod (with a Manfrotto, not Bogen code if applicable) that would be suitable for holding such a weight.

Cheers for your help.

I'm gonna ask the obvious first: did you browse through their
catalogs? If I'm not mistaken weight etc. is listed. Otherwise
try phoning one of our sponsors like B&H. They might have the
answer for you.

Lastly take a look at the following:

Cheers Rob, I actually had a section of the crane built the wrong war around, so the fulcrum point was wrong. With a bit of re-arrangement, I’ve got it working on my 525 legs, only needs 10kg to balance now.

I had a word with a guy I know at Calumet Photo Video, and he is sorting me out a new tripod. Probably looking at a Manfrotto 132x.
