ok I'm using premiere 6.0 and using the pinnical card. When I'm editing it will crash on me. Seems like it crashes when I'm changing things like the color correction or dragging the clip to shorten it. Right when I finish the edit it crashes. Trying to figure out the problem. Is the pinnical board the problem or the program? Does premiere 6.5 have crashing problems? Last resort is getting a new video card and upgrading to adobe pro 1.0. Thanks for your help

Could you give us some more information?

Like, what operating system are you running?
What's your computer specs?

Premiere Pro is indeed more stable, in my opinion, than the previous versions. But it could very well be your hardware/operating system...

I was having the same kind of problems, but it was my Abit motherboard. Once I made a few tweaks, it was solid.

Hi Faris

I had this problem with my NLE and found that I had a faulty stick of ram. Once the faulty ram was removed I had no problems. You can download a ram check utility from Microsoft.

prob is we had this same problem on the computer before this one but just worse so not sure if the ram would be the problem

Farid,

Crashing can be caused by a number of things:

1. The hardware is not installed correctly
2. The drivers are not communicating correctly with the hardware
3. Problem with the software
4. A virus
5. Hardware might need to be upgraded
6. Space on the hard disk might be full
7. Some other program is running in the background
8. You might not be running the recommended system spec by Pinnacle.
....

Could you please provide more information:

A. What is your computer specification, and operating system?
B. What Pinnacle capture card are you using?
C. Please check Q's 4,6,7 and 8 above

Have you got the .02 update for premiere and the latest drivers for the pinnacle card?

Thanks,

PS My reply was orginially in the Premiere forum thread. Please do not cross post. I have merged my reply into this thread. Thanks
