Hi folks,
I'm MSgt Buck Kahler, stationed at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base outside Knoxville, Tennessee. We do all the videos, DVD's, and broadcasts for the Air National Guard across the country. We use DVCPro 50 as our primary acquisition format and have various mini-DV cameras for special purposes like aerial videography etc. Our primary editing platform is Final Cut HD and we're in the process of creating a shared XServe RAID-based network for storage and image retrieval. Interested in HDV for my own side projects as well as a first step into high def.
Nice to meet y'all!
-Buck

Greetings Buck,

I'm an AD USAF O6 Aerospace Medicine physician at Johnson Space Center in Houston. I'm a hobbyist with an XL2 -- just shot some footage last week of a buddy who is an Army Guard flight surgeon. He was getting his first flight in an Apache out at Ellington Field. LOTS of interesting stuff going on here; maybe we should collaborate on some side projects sometime?

Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the welcome, folks! I hear good things about the XL2, Col Bauer, but we're not looking at getting one. We just got in two Sony PD-170's, have 2 XL-1's, and a Panasonic DVX-100 (not the "A" model.) But those are our special purpose cameras. Looking forward to seeing what Sony's new HVR-Z1 looks like. May be getting one of those for myself. If I can be of assistance to anyone here's my contact info:
