Hi everyone, I just got a Beachtek DXA-8 along with a AT4073a mic for XMass. Sweetness! However I was kind a bummed when I opened the box to the DXA-8 and knobs on it were just black plastic and not the chrome ones advertised or like the ones on the outside of the box. I know its only superficial but what happened to my chrome?
Happy Holidays to everyone!

Even the chrome ones were just plated plastic. I assume they did away with them due to flaking, but I'm just hazarding a guess.

Chrome is amateur stuff, everyone knows basic black is pro. Mine is black.

I didn't realize it was plastic as well I thought the chrome ones were metal and I got some plastic ones. I feel much better now.

My Sound devices 302 and Mix Pre have plastic knobs, so does my marantz PMD670

I'd rather have plastic anyway. Not that it happens often, but occasionally you'll build up static. Not to mention weight. It adds up. :-) Hmmm....how many justifications can we come up with. ;-)
