I am planning a thriller genre short film. I am slowly acquiring resources. I have one shot, where a doctor sits in his office.Camera will on top showing his head and table in front of him from TOP. As the camera slowly moves from top to show his front view with the same desk infront of him. How to do this ? Does anybody has any examples how they did it. If you didn't understand what I am talking I can come up with an image.
I forgot to tell about me, I just joined and this is my first post.

it sounds like a jib/crane would be what your looking for.

There are thousands of posts on the internet about jibs and cranes and their use in film/video production. A simple google search might be helpful to you.
They are available for rent or purchase, and cost anywhere from $150 to $100K depending on size, controls, monitoring solutions, and payload size.
I own a longer light weight jib for smaller cameras, and a shorter heavy duty jib that will float a fully rigged Arri 35BLIII with zoom no problem.
For what its worth, something inexpensive like a cobra crane will let you do the compound move needed for this shot.
Good Luck!
