I'm doing advanced post - color correction/sound/filmlooking on a Mac dual 2.5 gig G-5 w/FCP hi-def, BlackMagic 8 bit (un-compressed) as well as Magic Bullet hi-def, of a project that was acquired on DVCAM and film and roughed out to a time line using premier 6.5 (the new system was only recently made avail., else we would have began on the FCP HD), and I would like to know if anyone knows how we can convert the time line from the current avi files to the QuickTime files on the Mac. I would like to avoid having to re-load all the individual clips again ! As it is thus far, the project was converted over as one big file. One problem (you could probably think of a few) is that even though I make a razor cut to a particular clip, when I apply color correction I can hear the fans kick in on the fluid-cooled proc’s: it’s applying cc to the entire file and displaying the small clip in the monitor window (as well as pulling up to ten sound tracks too)! Now I know this is a tough system, but it’s still just a computer and is subject to crashes, etc. Does anybody know how to convert the time line out to QuickTime ? This v.(6.5) of Premier isn’t equipped with the right EDL export program.
