This really goes in industry news, but given that so many people use Nuendo as their sound app, this is once again a new bounce.
Steinberg did well with Nuendo and the other tools, and then IMO, Pinnacle did everything they could to mess it up. Yamaha might do better, but Yamaha has never done well in the software channel.
I post it here, because I'd like to hear what software you guys are using for your audio sweetening/processing. And if you're using Nuendo, do you plan on continuing to do so since you've been abandoned twice already?

I use Cubase sx 2 and Sonar. I don't think Steinberg is that stupid to let thing go out of their hands. The sequencer market is more and more important. I don; think yamaha will mess this up and I like how things are going right now. We can' t complain much. People want more and more. I am happy how things are now.

Jose,
Steinberg let this out of their hands a long time ago when Pinnacle bought Steinberg. Now Pinnacle is selling the applications to Yamaha. It doesn't matter what Steinberg wants to do, it's entirely up to Yamaha. Steinberg is nothing but a name, owned by Yamaha now, and formerly owned by Pinnacle.

Doug:

I am a long time Nuendo user and have been using Steinberg products since they moved over t=from the Atari. I will continue to use Nuendo and Wavelab and am upgrading to the new release of Nuendo 3.

I hope that the purchase of Steinberg by Yamaha leads to good things, but that is only a speculation at this point.

Regards,

Ray
