Ken, Did you ever post your review of the dvrig? I'm curious how well it would work to stabilize a GL-2 while filming a bird flying overhead (and using a viewfinder).
I just tried an Image 2000 (Birns and Sawyer). It might work ok with an XL but it was completely unusable on a GL-2 trying to use the viewfinder.
I can see other uses of a dvrig but the item I'm really looking for is a way to stabilize the camera while I am filming a bird flitting about overhead.

Hi Jeff,
The advantage of the DvRigPro over all other supports
is the spring loaded support pod and the freedom you have to move in all exies, Tilt,Pan,Doutch, change Camera height.
It is very easy to follow any object and stay stable when you
want and for long periods. you are not using any muscle power
to hold the camera. the pod will support you in any position.

Danny, Can you put a different quick release plate on the dvrig? I'm leaning toward the new Manfrotto 701 and it looks to use a smaller QR plate than the 501 does.

The QR system, Manfrotto 357/ Bogen 3273, is a sliding system.
Its use in the DvRigPro. is essential for adjusting the camera back and forth to the most comfortable view finder position and for switching between LCD and view finder.
If you look at the bottom of the DvRig Acc. page, www.dvtec.tv/_wsn/page8.html You will see that you can order an extra QR system similar to the one we use, and mount it on
your 701 or on any tripod head. This will give you the same QR base on the rig and on the tripod and will allow a super fast move from rig to tripod and back.

I have a Bogen/Manfrotto 501 head and a DVRig Pro. Is there an adapter plate I can use with the DVRig Pro so I don't have to change the sliding plate everytime I switch mounts?

Yes, Manfrotto 357/ Bogen 3273. Same as the DvRigPro QR system.
You mount it on your 501 plate and you get the same base on the DvRig and your tripod.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So if I understand this correctly, I would attach the Bogen 3273 "Quick Release Adapter" directly to the top of my Manfrotto 501 head.
Then I'll be able to use the Bogen 3272 "mounting plate" on the 501 and the DVRig Pro?

Why not the multirig? I used GL2 camera and I just used last night in our Christmas party. wow I shoot 4 hours and don't feel any fatigue in my hands. I brought also my tripod but I didn't use it because I'm comfortable even I don't take a shot. I'm just holding the camera and the Multirig do the job. Thanks Dany for a wonderful job!(very compact RIG)
