Hello everybody,

We will soon buy a PDX10P and we would like to know if there any hopes... that the Sony battery NP-FM91 is working for the PDX10P because I used them on my small TRV-30 ??

I am not familiar with the FM91 personally, but the PDX-10 manual says that it will work. I have an NP-QM91 and an NP-QM91D for my PDX-10, the only difference being that the 91D has LED's that show the charge level. The QM-91 gives me about 4 hours continuous run time with the LCD screen open and phantom power to the mike. The manual indicates that the FM91 should give comparable results.

I have several batteries.
I have a QM70 and bought a replacement, turned out to be the FM70 - works perfect. FM91 is only bigger. I also had a TRV-30e,
all my batteries worked in the PDX10P. Had to replace my TRV30 due to an encounter with a submarine (long story - http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23494)
So glad I did.
I'm sure you'll love the PDX10P as much as I.

Chris: Tasmania very far off !!! Well encounter with submarine should be an very impressive event. In addition your story make rising in me a stange feeling. I'm passionated by volcanoes and try film them. I was an happy owner of one XL-1 since almost six years but last october on Mount Etna in Italy I lost all my stuff except the TRV30 !! I was on a steep slope and just finished to film very nice lava channel and was few meters from my bag looking for the eyes (for the pleasure) when there was a big rising in the rate of emission of lava, provocating a break from lava tube just above me and ... my stuff. I have just the time to quickly go aways but without the bag !! Hard end for my Xl-1, engulfed in lava...

Pierre, that's quite a story! Glad that the only thing you lost was your camera.

Yes you have right and I don't feel very proud because I largely underestimate the risk but I was alone and nobody was hurt.

The lesson (at least) for me was that I need in this kind of areas a more compact camecorder, so I can keep it easier on my back.

I hope that the PDX10 will be the right stuff!

If you want to "run light" with the PDX-10 then remove the XLR block and mike - the camera will still record stereo sound through its builtin mikes. They include a neck strap with the camera. You can easily hike around all day with it on the strap and hardly even realize it's there.
