I was wondering if anyone knows a digital image on the internet
with the various states and relevant timezones they are in together
with some other information like capitols, majors cities and whatnot.
The larger the better <g>

You might be able to find something through Info Please (http://www.infoplease.com/states.html).

Two of the map sites that I like are TopoZone (http://www.topozone.com/viewmaps.asp) and TerraServer (http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/). Topozone is great for USGS topographical maps, but that probably isn't what you want. Terraserver has nice photomosaic maps but they probably don't do what you want either unfortunately...
