So it looks like you can trigger video start and stop from an Iphone or other browser equipped device connected to the Canon WFT-E5, waiting for confirmation. This will be a real boon for Steadicam and polecam users. You should also be able to control all other camera functions too.

Don't we have the same ability with the 5D already-- problem being this all has to flow through a laptop, too. ????

That is my understanding of the WFT-E4 (http://www.canon.co.jp/imaging/wft/wft-e2/spec/index.html#e4). There is a full TCP/IP stack and httpd in it; I would love to get one to see about writing cgi-bin scripts.

Has anyone purchased and tested this? (I ask because I can't find any information about it that specifically states you can start/stop video).
