Do the presets (eg. cine gamma, etc) work with 60i. Does not appear to, to my eyes, anyway.

The camera's LCD display may not show them clearly -- you'll need an external CRT monitor, a good one, to really see the differences. See page 57 of the manual: If you're shooting in the "Green Box" (easy recording) program mode, then you can't use the custom presets. They'll be "purpled out," meaning unavailable.
