Did anyone make comparisons of the FX1 in SD and the PD170 or 2100? Sharpness and low light performance?
I am planning to buy a fx1 and use it in SD on the first months and on some occasions.
Thank you in advance.

I'm unaware of any formal comparison yet -- but I'm willing to believe that the FX1 is at least the same or superior in most respects to the VX2100.
By the way, you'll need to send me an email with your updated username: see this post for details (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6296).

If the image quality is the same or superior to the 2100, then it should be equal or superior to the PD150. The differences between those two cameras was so very slight, and I'd say it mostly depended on how you adjusted your setup.
As I firmly believe image quality will be practically the same between the FX1 and the Z1. Once again the differences will depend on some extra setups the Z1 has, and they are far from what the DVX100A does.

Reports I have seen indicate...
low light - VX2100 is 12-15db (2 - 2.5 stops) more sensitive
zoom FX1 about 70% shorter throw

The picture quality is better (cleaner and tighter) under good light when compare to the VX2000 and DSR300, under low light it needs atleast 12 db of gain to get the same brightness as the VX2000, at 12db gain, it also now have the same amount of noise as the VX2000.
