Does this mean that full 35mm cmos cameras are gonna become reality faster than we imagined?

EDIT:::: may 22 2002 WHAT ?!

It might be news but not impressive.

Has anyone heard of Panavision releasing a single 12.4 Megapixel chip (Genesis) camera?

I spoke to a guy who is a trainer at NFTS - teaching the "introduction to HD course" - apparently he'd seen it and is very impressed.

He told me that they (Panavision) chose to apply some noise to a demo footage, otherwise it looked too good to be true. He mentioned that after Arri'd seen the demo they decided to withdraw their own new HD camera.

Apparently, it blows away everything he'd seen to date.

It's all rumors at this stage of course.

I would have to say that both of these statements seem unlikely, particularly the second one. Arri's D20 has been in development for too long for them to arbitrarily pull it.

Yeah right. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. What did Panavision expect was going to happen?

"Oh my god, the image I'm seeing on the screen can't be happening!! They must have just placed a box and cut a hole! It looks too real!! My head is exploding!"

that does not seem to be that silly, people do say that HD looks to "sharp" due to lack of grain structure, its not impossible to have an image from full 35mm sensor looking even sharper.
