Hey again...

Just trying to find a lanc extension for my 2.5mm remote. Im using a jib and need to be able to zoom from the base. Can this be purchased in Austin, Texas? I know that varizoom is located here. If not, would anyone local be willing to rent it for 1 day for say... the cost of a domestic 6 pack? ill pick up and return.

i clearly have access to the internet, rb. its not tthat i cant locate them to buy online, its that i need one TODAY. varizoom offered no help, seeing as theyve got only business offices in austin. no one has this? i find that hilarious. makes me wanna snap a neck.

i just meant to imply that by posting on the forum, id have been able to summon online resources as well as anyone. ANYHOW...

the solution is among us.

i just bought some 2.5mm audio analog extensions.. (3.95 for 12 feet) and they work fine.

Radio Shack might have them for future reference. If they don't have the mini cable then you could do what I've done and buy the standard cable extension and then buy adaptors that will adapt each end from standard to mini.

Good tip, James. Have done this myself in the past. I think it's a good idea also to wrap some gaff tape or electrician's black tape around those connections to the adapters at each end.

Aha. Good tip from you Chris. It wouldn't be fun if your cable got stretched and those connections pulled apart. I always make a loop at the connection to prevent that but sometimes that loop mysteriously moves up or down the run away from the connection defeating the safety. You can't go wrong with taping the connections.
