Now I've heard a lot about those HDV handycams, but one thing that's puzzling me is this camera better than say Sony DVCAMs DSR-390's?? And if so why??

Can we shoot a movie on HDV cams and then dub it into 35mm and it would give us a better look than DVCAMs or even BETACAMS would when dubbed into 35mm??

You would get more resolution from HDV than Betacam or DVCam, but there are other camera factors that influence the final image just as muach as resolution, i.e., color reproduction, motion artifacting, lens quality, form factor, audio features, etc...For some who have notions of printing to 35mm the resolution alone will sell the HDV cameras (like 24p sold the DVX100 to the same group), but most of us will never print to film, so I think buying on that basis, unless your sure of a print ahead of time is pointless.

Do a search on our site for info on going to 35mm film. We have an active discussion on it.

Also you could just use a digital projector,

i must be lucky since one of our cinema in my City has a brand new digital projector installed, its one of those art house type cinema, showcasing indies and overseas films,

so any one in the UK that has a FX1 drop me a line and i'll drop them a line!!
