I am about to pick up an inexpensive 24" television that has a 16x9 mode on it. It is a Samsung and it is a perfectly flat screen.
I went and looked at the specs and it says on antenna input it has 270 lines of res and on the S-video it has 400. This seems low to me. I currently have a 20" Sony Trinitron television that does 16x9 but Sony does not publish specs on the lines of res.
I can't find any on other brands either. My JVC pro monitor does 700 lines. I just want to know if the Samsung at 400 lines is comparable to the 20" Trinitron.
This is not directly XL2 related but since it is the cheapest route to see real 16x9 off of the camera I am asking here.
I searched the web and can't find out if 400 lines is on par with a 24" TV. Samsung does sell a 27" that specs out much higher 700 lines but it doesn't have 16x9 aspect mode.
I need to know as soon as possible as I have 3 days to return the 20" trinitron. The biggest problem with it is that it has no Svideo in. That and the 16x9 mode doesn't stay if you bump any buttons so I am constantly having to drill through the menu to turn it back on. The 24" samsung has svideo and memory presets for all of the inputs so it properly stores 16x9 mode.
The samsung is cheaper too!
Anyone?
