I'm curious if anyone else has had this happen to them? The zoom rocker on the handle is not working, but the zoom on the side grip works fine. I have it set to servo on the bottom so I know it's not because it's locked in manual mode. I hold my EX1 from the top handle 90% of the time (run and gun) so accessing the zoom from the side is not preferable for me. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something simple/stupid, which I'm prone to do, ha! Good gosh this camera is awesome!

I assume the lock switch on the side of the handle is set to L or H and not off.

BINGO!!! Good gosh, I told you I was prone to overlooking simple things, ha! I didn't even realize there was a side switch, I just knew about the bottom one. THANK YOU ALISTER! I'm so thankful I don't care about the embarrassment factor! :^D
