Looks like they discontinued the WR-HD1 marine pack for the HD1!?

Not sure what that is all about but I just got off the horn with JVC Service and they confirmed it. No replacement slated.

I know there's other options out there, but it was the cheapest of the bunch and it allowed the LCD to be used while underwater.

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

what's wrong ?
the hd10 is already 1 year old, most of camera in the market have not a longer market cycle.
this mean too we could expect a 2nd (better ?) version very soon ?

So much for the next JVC HDV cam having the same physical specs as the HD1/HD10U. Life would be so much easier..

Unless..The WR-HD1 didn't have many manual controls anyway right, such as White Balance? Maybe they are just planning on a better housing. I can't imagine using my HD10U U/W without manual controls...

Bobby,

The HD10 didn't have much in the way of manual controls, which was very controversial, along with the one ccd.

Heath, I understand that the HD10U was missing some manual controls, particularly missing a mode for manual shutter speed and iris control. What I was referring to was the WR-HD1's lack of access to most of the camera's provided manual controls, including White Balance, auto-focus, etc. I have the Gates HD1 Housing for my HD10U, and couldn't imagine using anything less (i.e. Ikelite, JVC WR-HD1.)

I too am hoping for an improved 3-CCD HDV camera for underwater, however for now, I am quite happy with my HD10U for that purpose.

Bobby,

That IS disappointing. Probably why it didn't sell.
