I have the .6x fixed WA adapter and I am using it with great success on my XL2. The problem is that it is a bayonet mount and forces me to remove the lenshood when I use it. So I do.

2 issues arise.

1>some lensflares from lights to the left and right can be easily seen, even when the light source is not directly in the shot. I'd like to block these.

2> I tend to hold the lens hood when I am doing handheld shots and with the adapter there is no lens hood and I keep accidentally getting my hand in the far left part of the shot.

So I ask.....can someone recommend a lenshood that will fit this? Century doesn't make one themselves for this model....only the .7x. So I am willing to rig something up to assist me in this task.

Does anyone have any good ideas?

Keep in mine I will be doing a lot of "run and gun" type stuff so I am trying to keep it small and inexpensive.

I ordered a Sunshade/Filterholder (VS-FA95)

from Century Optics, and it works pretty good. I'm not sure if it will completely solve your lens flare problem, but it definitely helps, and it also allows you to protect the glass of your WA adapter. If you order it directly from Century Optics, make sure to specify that you want the 95mm shade.

You have a couple of options here. I bought the relatively inexpensive mattebox from Cinetactics. The adapter ring will screw onto the front of the WA and then the Matteblox attaches to the ring. This is a lightweight mattebox system made from nylon and velcro but it works really well. Anothere option is the all out Century Optics mattebox system that's mounted on rods.

Can you post an image of this unit on your XL2?? OR describe how it hooks up? Does it attach to the WA adapter and stay attached even when it is not mounted on the camera? Any input would be appreciated.
