Im working on this machine atm.

But i want it to fit not only my single chip cam but also an Xl1,Dvx and Pdx10 lens size.

Can i use some sort of universal mount to work with all these lenses?

Cheers,
Ben

You wont achieve a universal fitting easily. For the DVX you would need a close-up lens with 72mm filter thread mount.

Century Optics make an achromatic diopter which should be your choice rather than a single element close-up lens.

You might then in a camera shop, find several step-down adaptor rings to match this 72mm lens to your smaller 37mm mount.

The XL1 presents a different problem which are extensively addressed in the XL1 threads.

Could i get the pdx10 to work on the agus (setup for my single chip 37mm lens diameter) with a 42mm to 37mm convertor?

Would this cause any problems?

Ben

I don't know what the diameter of the front element of a PDX10 is. On a PD150, with 52mm (58mm filter mount), a 44mm diameter on the close-up lens I use, causes vignetting which makes any gg image larger than the 24mm x 18mm movie frame unusable.

Maybe go to your photgraphic store with a box or choloclate wrapper with a standard barcode on it which is about the right size for still-camera frame, try their close-up lenses on the PDX10 and see if you can get a good frame on it without the bars being curved in the image. I suggest the box because it won't fall over when you set up your test on their counter or display cabinet.

A +7 will put your barcode about 5" (140mm) away from the front of the cam.
