hello everybody,
i shoot skateboarding with my trusty gl2, and go out at night quite a bit. i have a honda generator and 2000 watts of work lights, which really work great. but due to the noise and setup/teardown time of the lighting gear, options are limited.

after browsing the forum a bit and checking the listings on b&h, i'm pretty sure i know the functionality i want, but not sure which light is going to do the job.

i'm looking for something i can mount on the camera to light people at close rage with a fisheye, that could also be used by a second person to light a specific area (gap, set of stairs) if i'm going to shoot long lens. in that case, it would need to light a fair bit of space. lithium ion is a must too.

I don't know that anybody makes a single light like you need. A fisheye has an immense field of view.

I can't think of anything that's battery powered that will give you the amount of output that you want.

If it's just the generator noise that's a problem, here's a crazy idea:
Assuming that you have a little money to play with, get a hold of a van (like a U-Haul, Ryder, etc). Get a lot of furniture pads and line the inside of the van with them. Park the van around a corner from where you are shooting, put the generator in the van (make sure you ventilate!!) and then cable over to where you need lights. Voila! Poor man's MovieQuiet!

If you must have battery power, I would try a car or boat battery with a power inverter. You can probably find both at a place like PepBoys or AutoZone. Just make sure you only turn the lights on when you're rolling, because a 1000w light will drain a battery FAST.
