just curious to see how many of you are incorporating using this software into your finished product?

I have not yet, but will be. I spent significant time learning Motion 3 this summer. :)

I've got Motion 2, but not really sure what I'd use it for.

I've only used it for scrolling credits since FCP is so choppy when it scrolls text.

I use motion 3 to get a very clean slow motion. I also use the dvd menu templates as the basis for all my dvd's.

I use it a lot. I make graphic animations as segues into the DVD menus, as well as my corporate logo, and animated titles for features. Right now I'm using it to animate helium balloons for a Love Story title.

It's pretty intuitive once you get going on it. I just suggest you don't dive into it when you need something soon.

I'm using Motion 4 now and have used this program since it came out.
I use the templates to create introductions to my videos, I use Motion to create lower thirds for titles and with this I use the filters, behaviors to create good looking text. I use Motion for slow-mo and use the optical flow blending for this. I use the templates to create menus for DVD. I'm able to create small, but very effective animations to use in FCP with my videos.

I use it for text, scrolling credits, logo, better slo mo, and best of all, it can work wonders on stabilizing shaky footage, a bumped tripod, a not so smooth zoom, etc. when you can not cut to another cam to cover the offending footage. I love it.

Hi Scott!

just curious to see how many of you are incorporating using this software into your finished product?

I only use it for round-tripping 24p slow motion shots. I don't even have the livetype fonts or other Motion assets loaded. I keep saying I should dive in and use it but there is always work that needs to get out the door yesterday...

Better than FCP's SmoothCam?

Hi Mike,

Better than FCP's SmoothCam?

I never tried SmoothCam in FCP. I latched onto Motion's and never tried anything else.
