Would A**35 work with Canon 3x?

It says that the min focusing distance is 3/4" which is desirable, yes?
but then another site has the minimum focus at 0.5m...quite a disparency. And Canon's site for video lenses is down unless there is another.
Edit: actually i thought about it some more and i think it'd be too wide, the gg projection would be a tiny, tiny thing and there'd be too much of everything else, too much vignetting.
