Take a look at http://www.dvworld.com.tw/product/sony_pd150_vs_vx2000.htm
I can't decipher the text as I can barely read English, let alone any Asian languages, but the images here are *very* interesting. Comments?

i wish i could read that it does seem interesting i think they might have had each camera set up different or something?
unless they alter the picture after the video was shot? arent these 2 cams supposed to output identical video? same chips / lens / etc?

When I was comparing cameras I actually A/B'd the 150 and VX2K and could see no difference.

Yeah, the VX2k and PD150 imaging internals are identical, so they will produce exactly the same picture. Anyone says any different they're lying :-)

Perhaps a better choice of words, John, would be, "They just don't understand." It is unlikely that we have any folks on the forum that would lie about such a thing.
The ability to read image quality or compare between two images is determined by one's ability and experience.
I'm certain that there are quite a few people out there that can identify differences between images of the same subject shot with two PD-150's or a 150 and a 2000.
Why I, myself, am capable of telling the difference between my Hi-8 camera and my PD-150 at least most of the time. I can tell you that my wife cannot and she is not lying to me. She just is not trained.

Just looked at that page. The settings on the cameras have to be different. I seriously doubt they're set the same. The color and contrast are quite different between the pics, too much to be anything other then settings.

I agree. Even with a herd of any camera (more than one)there is bound to be some difference in setup(color, hue ,sharpness, etc)That's why it's nice to have the controls to customise the picture.

Mike,
Yeah Lying was bad choice of words but I did have the smilie after it. I didn't mean to imply that anyone of the forum would lie about such things. It's just my sense of humour :-)))))
John.
