I've got an upcoming outside wedding that will have a violinist and singer during the ceremony. The venue will NOT be using a sound system or mics of any kind. I have a Sennheiser G2 wireless, Audio Technica wireless, and Sennheiser 416 shotgun for the B&G/pastor area, but am not sure what to use for the music area.
The music will be located about 20 feet away. I have a Marantz PMD-660 recorder to plug a mic into. I'm going to be renting the microphones. My choices are either two "Dyanmic - Omni ElectroVoice RE50 Handheld" mics, or two "Condenser - Directional Shure SM87 Handheld Cardioid" mics.
I'm an audio novice, but I was thinking of having the singer hold one mic and place the next mic next to the violinist. Which of these two mics would best suit this situation, or should I get one of each?
