View Full Version : Post pics of your camcrane 200 in action
Richard Lewis September 13th, 2004, 02:59 PM Could anyone out there who ownes one, please post pictures of your setup.
Any efforts would be greatly appreciated.
I've been debating the purchase of this system for quite some time now. But this month, I've decided that I have been waiting long enough.
The only time I briefly saw one set up, was at BH. Even then, it was attached to a collapsed tripod.
The pictures on the Glidecam site show it attatched to what looks like a lighting stand lol
I'm just trying to get a picture of what it looks like an a descent tripod, with a camera attached.
I can't find any pictures on Google either.
Some shots that show the reach would also be appreciated. i.e a person standing next to it, to give it scale.
Richard Lewis September 15th, 2004, 10:32 AM NOOOO, my thread is being rejected into the archives of DVinfo.net
*Brings it back to life*
Anyone??
Rob Lohman September 16th, 2004, 01:36 AM Richard: I haven't heard of anyone having this crane, so perhaps
no-one can help you out here. Sorry.
Have you seen this site?

Mark Jervis September 16th, 2004, 08:41 AM I do have this crane and love it but unfortunately do not have any action shots at the moment since I've only had 1 paid job that used it since I got it and that tape went straight to fedex after it was shot. Sorry
Richard Lewis September 16th, 2004, 12:33 PM Thanks for the replies. Rob the link you gave me virtually mirrors the Glidecam site.
Hummmm, I'm sure that there must be more people out there who own it. I swear that people have talked to me about it in previous posts. I've just never asked for pictures before.
Michael Best September 18th, 2004, 08:59 AM This item shows footage of a similar product.

Rob Lohman September 20th, 2004, 02:41 AM Richard: I thought it showed a bit more closeups to certain parts
of the crane than the glidecam site did (see the bottom part of
the site I posted, it's easily missed).

Same photos, just a little bit smaller
Thanks for the link anyway.
Rob Lohman September 21st, 2004, 03:02 AM Indeed, weird, I somehow must have missed that. Sorry.
Reid Bailey September 23rd, 2004, 08:04 AM I worked on a shoot where one of these was used.
IMHO, which ain't worth much, the thing is total piece of crap. Very flimsy, not well engineered, left the guy who bought it saying "$500 (or whatever) for that?"
Take some time and look around, there has got to be betterstuff out there
Michael Best September 23rd, 2004, 09:25 AM It would seem to me the Promax ones with dual arm extensions
would be more stable/less flexible?
Richard Lewis September 23rd, 2004, 02:29 PM Thanks for the advice, but it turns out that I won't be buying one this month, as my video monitor in my editing suite just blew up.
That’s another £500 to pay out...
Ps. never heard of Promax. Even if I found them, it’s hard to find suppliers in the UK as they are mainly US based companies
