Hi!

How does the gs400 compare to dv953 in lowlight?
Are the ugly lowlight noise gone in gs400? And have anyone tried to make own titles with gs400? -is it possible to use jpg´s as titles like the xm2?

Thanx
Lisa

Lisa, here (http://www.hakke-chemnitz.de/GS400/KHH_night.zip) are some night video frame grabs for you to see the GS400 noise. (2.2MB)
And here (http://www.hakke-chemnitz.de/GS400/IMGA0093_KHHnight.jpg) is a photo with 1/4s exposure time (+15dB) which I just lossless rotated 90 degrees.
Here (http://www.hakke-chemnitz.de/GS400/KHH_night_ProCinema.wmv) is a small WMV night video file 1Mbit (1MB).

Sorry, the DV953 part has to do someone else! ;)

Thanx!! -seems like there is a pretty big improvment in lowlight compared to the dv953!

Yes, I personally also think the GS400's low light performance is not that bad, although I can only compare it to my cheap old DS27 one chipper.

Btw. I feel especially night shots look not good on the GS400's LCD display, photos and video. But later on a computer screen or TV it looks much better.

Oh, and about the JPEG-titles... seems the GS400 can not use JPEG pictures as titles. At least I didn't figure out how to do so. You can only take some really simple one color titles.
