WOW!
i mean sure enough the XL2 will have native 16:9 CCD's but who needs it when a piece of glass can achieve the same results without having to downsample and overprocess...
on top of that, the LOOKS people give u when they see this mother on ur cam is priceless.. LOL
I have the luck of havin one of these as an indefinite loan and i cant wait to use it on a BIG project.. i just went out filmin with it to the local beach, and i have to say, the nice CLEAN images it take are quite incredible.
very VERY clean glass with virtually no distortion when used correctly..
Also makes the cam look even better than it already does.. lol
Now, heres the only problem i have found with it..
Alignment. if ur alignment is off, so will ur image..
now what i do, is align the inside frame to the sun shield (that lil plate with the 2 screws on either end of the lens opening) can be tricky, but i jsut wish there was a proper locking/ Auto alignment mechanism for it.. basically lockin the lens into the cam without having to calibrate the lens this way.. thats my only gripe..
but apart from that it looks the part and people poo themselves when they see it.. lol ....its a great selling tool when u show a cam like this with a $2000 piece of glass attached, clients DO get impressed with an impressive lookin "non standard" set up...
