well, if we're going to talk tape, and specifically dv, could someone please list the makes and whether they are wet / dry?
so far i've used sony / fuji / tdk in both my 2000 and 170 with no problems (in the latter recording about 75% dv and the balance dvcam).
or is wet/dry no longer an issue?

Leslie: I've split your post to a new thread since it didn't had
anything to do with the notice you attached it to.
We don't have a list of tape brands and types but different tapes
(including dry versus wet) have been discussed a lot of times
already.
Please use the search to find the posts (either in the upper right
corner or in the link in my signature) enter "wet dry" (without the
quotes) as the search string and select the "The Long Black Line"
as the forum to search in. This should yield you a pretty good list
of all the posts on that topic.

thanks for your reply, and splitting my thread out.
i've read numerous (too numerous) reports of wet vs dry tapes in the forum, and as yet have to admit i still don't know which of the minor players are which....
as i wrote, i usually use sony, but clients supplied fuji / tdk for various jobs (they think i make THAT much on tape supply?). anyway, so far so good with them. but, i really would like to know which manufacturer supplies which tape.... especially those i should avoid using a sony cam.
i live in hope of a simple life, if not a simple answer...
all the best
