Nice setup. What model is the viewfinder eyepiece and where did you get it?

Normal Canon finder with the large rubber eye-cup. It's got a chamois/foam eye "cushion" that came with a pro camera rental as freebies.

I'm also thinking about buying the Azden but haven't found a good adapter yet.

Cool matte box. Where'd you get that thing? I didn't know Arri made anything like that. Looks really rugged.

It's from an old Arriflex film camera. It's got two filter slides, one of which rotates, so this is the one that holds a grad filter.
Unfortunately, the filter size is 4" x 3", but luckily I've got a set of most filters in that size. At least, if I need some new ones, I can always buy 4" x 4" and cut them down ;-)
It came with the rods, but I had the adaper plate for the camera made up by the BBC workshops here.

Haha, it does actually, I didnt notice that. I took the pics real quick in my room with my second GL2............ I took some more time with the pics below using my D100 and fill flash. I havent had time to get the digital cameras on yet. Photographers enjoy.

I see you are using a Matte Box - I think I know which one it is, but please tell me . . ? I think I can see this MB "clamped" onto the rim of the Wide Angle. Does it feel secure? What type of downward leverage is there on camcorders 58mm threads are there? Matte Box plus weight of wide angle glass? Do you also have the provision to rotate filters - thinking of Circ Polars here - yes? Do you feel comfortable with "torque" being transmitted to the WD and thence onto the 58mm threads? How many filters trays are there? What thickness of trays? Does this MB have the option to be clamped onto the 58mm - meaning not needing to use the WD - wide angle? How easy is it to adjust and remove/replace filters from the top? I guess it is from the top? Is there a cover over the filter trays? Does the Canon Onboard Mic get in the way when removing/alternating filters?

Have you a link to this Matte Box?

I really like it because I can use it with both the .55x and .65x lenses without vignetting and the clamp-on device works great - its VERY secure. I can also use the Box with no lenses attached via a 58mm to 80mm Cone adapter I got. The drop in filter holders are also very slick and feel very secure unlike their regular more expensive matte boxes. They don't rotate so I will need to get one of their special rotating polarizers which I am trying to track down but having a very hard time locating.

There are 2 filter slots. Not sure of the thickness but I would guess about 5mm. There are no covers for the filter trays and the filter can slide out of the top or the bottom. They wont fall out though as there are springs in them to keep em from falling unless you pull them out. With the .55x lens there is no room to put filter in due to the mic being in the way, but the clamp is very fast to take off and put on the shade so Im not worried about it.

Both of my century lenses are bayonet mounts so Unless I use no lenses I don't use the 58mm threads on the cam at all.

The viewfinder magnifier is Century also. You have to be careful with the magnifier in the sun as the sun can ruin the screen if it shines directly through the magnifier - so I got a regular hoodman shade for sunny days. Here is the link to all the Century Optics accessories for the GL2:

I just got the sunshade today so I havnt had a lot of experience with it yet. I also bought one of the Cinetactics nylon matte boxes:

It has a very different approach to shading your lens using velcro and a strap, but I like the option in case I need a lot more protection. I imagine it would be fairly easy to custom make something for the sunshade too in the area of side and french flags.

I bought the WD-58H wideangle, but didn't like the fisheye edges, and couldn't really see the benefits of the $180 for 10% more picture with slightly distorted edges........so I returned it. Everyone seems to be a fan of this lens........am I the only rebel?? :)

Thanks for the images minus the big mike ... looks practical for video of vultures gliding at 70/100 yards but before I buy who knows a better camcorder for image quality at that distance for less than $2500, please.
