on how to make the film look. every thing went perfect and the effect is great but the audio is distorted. every time the engine of the car revs on my video there is a loud crackling sound. does anybody know how to fix this?

1- This post belongs in the audio forum. A moderator will move it shortly.

2- What do you mean by crackling? It might be digital clipping. To hear what digital clipping sounds like, export a sound with the volume bumped up 12dB and then listen to that (right click the clip and select switches --> normalize, then bump things up 12dB in the track level).

If you have clipping there is not much you can do to fix it. Some plug-ins will try to make up information which does not exist (i.e. Waves).

If you know how, you could try posting a mp3 clip of your sound. Export a mp3 from Vegas and put it up on your ISP's webspace.

i did digital clipping thing you said and yes thats exactly what i hear. how come it does that only when i do the 24p effect? and how do i prevent it?

I'm assuming if you play the original file it does not have this
problem? If so this is an editing problem and the post will be
moved to one of those forums.

The most important question (in my mind) is what software are
you using to do this? Which version? I'm assuming it is Premiere
and it is not the Pro version. Would that be correct?

This is purely speculation, but I would guess that you may have duplicated your audio tracks as you duplicated your video tracks. This would have the effect of doubling your audio energy, thus presenting a clipped audio effect. Check your audio tracks.
