hi,

i live in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
i'm moving to the Netherlands in september 2002 for art school.

as far as digital video is concerned...

i make art installations which are usually time-based in some way.
i do a lot of things which might be called music videos.
much of the footage i have shot lately is of skateboarding and i made an hour long skate-video a few years ago.
i've been working on a large series of short videos under the title and concept of "Still Life".
most of my work is music or sound driven in some way.

i occationally have done some "commercial" work and generally find that sort of thing to be unrewarding thus far (i guess it is nice to be able to pay bills though).

i think that it is cool the way high-quality video stuff is so non-expensive these days...it means that more projects which are non-commercial in nature can be produced and distributed...good ideas being more important than sellability and all that...

i enjoy the tricks, tips, and expert advice of this place.

oh yeah, web page: http://www.mediumrecords.com
thanks

I can almost agree with that. I have lots of ideas, and enjoy exploring them, creating what I feel is important to me. However, I have also grown accustomed to eating... daily, even.

Unfortunately, even some of the greatest artists either sold out once in a while, or they starved. Most of them not gaining fame and value until after their deaths. I don't want to wait that long :)

The real trick is to find good ideas that are sellable. Good ideas alone don't pay the bills.

Been there... done that. Repeatedly.
